Central America
We spent only a short time in each Central American country and didn´t get to know each one very well. There is plenty more to discover off the beaten path, but with the oppressive heat and some safety concerns, we didn´t venture too much from the Pan-Am. Still, hopefully what we learned may be of some help.
If you are interested in riding the Pan-Am, know that it is trafficked at points but there is always at least a small shoulder with space for cyclists. Generally it makes for a good ride.
